I haven't been keeping up with too many series lately, but the one that I do periodically try to catch up on is IDW's Ghostbusters series. If you know me in person, you know I'm a huge fan of the Ghostbusters, so this is almost a no-brainer for me. Crazy levels of fandom aside, I think these books have a lot of cool things going for them. They continue the continuity of the movies, game, and other comic book series. The art stands out a lot for me. It's pencilled by Dan Schoening, also known as Dapper Dan on DeviantArt. The character designs are great and really capture the likenesses of the actors. My only gripe here is that the packs looked a little too simple in the first couple issues. Accuracy buffs complained enough that they have been revised from around issue 5 or so onward. The writing has been really neat so far. It continues their ongoing battle with Gozer. For the most part, they feel like the same characters from the movies. There is also the occasional meta joke, i.e. Jake Blues showing up and acting as a sort of spirit guide to Stantz. So that's what I've been reading. Check it out.
